Kathmandu, February 23: Nepal’s tourism is being promoted at the United States Tourism Fair. Four companies, led by the Nepal Tourism Board, have participated in the ‘Adventure Travel Show’ held in Los Angeles on February 22 and 23.
Nepal Trek Adventure and Expedition Pvt. Ltd., Ojha Holiday Tour and Treks Pvt. Ltd., Friends Adventure Team Pvt. Ltd. and Nepal Century Treks Pvt. Ltd. participated in the fair. Nepal participated in the tourism fair after 15 years. Binod Sapkota, owner of Trek Adventure and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. and former Secretary General of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), informed that information about Nepal’s fascinating landscape, rich culture, and exciting adventure tourism was provided at the fair.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 10 percent, or 112,000 tourists, of the total tourists visiting Nepal in 2024 were from the United States. The United States ranks second after India among tourists visiting Nepal.
The fair was attended by Nepal Tourism Board Board Member Rajendra Lama, Board Director Hikmat Singh Air, tourism entrepreneurs Ramesh Ojha, Navin Pokharel, Kundan Mishra, and others. Similarly, Nepal’s honorary consul to California Rishi Prasad Dhakal was also present. The two-day fair featured over 100 stalls from countries including Nepal, Brazil, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Korea. –––
