Bhaktapur, 29 November: Changunarayan Municipality has started preparations for Nagarkot Tour Year-2025, which is to be organized with the aim of bringing one lakh foreign tourists to Nagarkot. Jeevan Khatri, the head of Changunarayan Municipality, said today that the preparations for the visit year, which will start from 1st Baisakh 2082 (14 April 2025), have been started.
During the visit year, preparations for the visit year have been started with the aim of informing local and foreign tourists about the historical heritage, art, culture, natural beauty, various ethnic festivals, and products in the whole area of the municipality from Ward No. 1 to 9 throughout the year.
The chief 0f municipality Khatri said, “With the goal of bringing in one lakh foreign tourists and lakhs of domestic tourists within the year 2082, we have started preparations for the Nagarkot Visit Year-2082(2025) to plan the long-term development and prosperity of Nagarkot. We believe that it will raise hundreds of hidden issues and structures of Nagarkot.” Stating that a budget of five million rupees has been allocated to complete the visit year grandly, he said that various committees and sub-committees will be formed so that all the residents of the city will participate in the visit year.
He said that not only the sunrise, sunset and mountain scenery seen from Nagarkot will be successful in bringing tourists from Ward 1 to Ward 9 and conveying the message about this place to the country and abroad. The chief of municipality Khatri also said that the tourists who come during the visit year will be managed to eat and stay comfortably in hotels and homestays in Nagarkot, Bhaktapur, Mandandeupur of Kavre, Banepa, Shankarapur municipality in Kathmandu.
Dhan Bahadur Lama, Ward Chairman of Changunarayan Municipality-6 Nagarkot, said that the preparations for the Nagarkot visit year-2082 have started and said that the support of the state and the federal government will be needed to make it a success. He said that since the road leading to Nagarkot has been closed for 11 years, the tourism business here has collapsed and the municipality has launched various action plans to attract tourists.
Upendra KC, President of the Press Society, Roshan Thapa, President of the Changunarayan Nagar Committee of the Independent Party, said that everyone’s cooperation is necessary to make the tour year a success.
