‘Gunyu Cholo’ selected in America’s picture film market

Kathmandu, October 17(Kartik 1): The Nepali film ‘Gunyu Cholo’, based on the story of a transgender character from a gender minority, has been selected at the prestigious American Photo Film Market. The film directed by Samudra Bhatt has been selected for the Photo Film Market to be held in Seattle, USA from October 17 to 20. Where prestigious film organizations like Amazon MGM Studio, Pillars Fund, Blumhouse HBO, CAA, Creative Land Studio will also participate.

Rita Meher, the founder and director of Photo Film Festival, said that this festival will be developed as an Oscar-worthy South Asian film festival.

Nazir Hussain is playing the lead role in the film ‘Gunyu Cholo’. In the film, he played the role of a transwoman. Along with Nazir, Sanchita Luintel, Sushil Sitaula, Rajkumar Ghosh, Shishir Rana, Anupam Shrestha and Bishal Pahari also played important roles in the film. The international distribution rights of this film, produced in Nepal’s first complete ‘Trans story’, have been bought by Buffalo Atley of America.
