The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his consort Sheikha Jawaher bin Hamad Al Thani, are in the United Kingdom for a two-day state visit from December 3–4, 2024. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral relations between Qatar and the UK, focusing on trade, investment, and cultural ties. This visit also builds upon previous discussions between King Charles III and the Emir, including their meeting at the COP-28 climate summit in Dubai last year, where they addressed environmental issues​

During the State Banquet at Buckingham Palace Britain’s King Charles III and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani were seen engaging warmly during the formal event.
