‘Missing: Report of missing girl’ Nepali Film

Kathmandu, 18th January : Director Dipendra Gauchan has directed the film ‘Missing: Missing Girl Information’, covering the theme of the lifestyle and reconciliation between a boy from the hill community and a girl from the Madhesi community. Director Gauchan, who is known for directing documentaries such as ‘Ujeli’ and ‘Hamro Mumin’, said that he has made the story of Madhesh, which is rarely seen in Nepali films, the subject.

He said, “I wanted to show the beauty of the Terai and its rich cultural diversity. Because many stories from the hilly and mountainous regions have come to the screen. Just as Ujeli is talked about, similarly, I have tried to make the news of the missing girl in a way that it will be remembered for many years. I have tried to bring a slightly different story and topic to the audience than what is being produced.”

Director Gauchan said that the film captures the ups and downs of a journey between two characters met on social media, the geographical and cultural diversity, and the psychology of two different communities. For this reason, he has included actor Nazir Hussain and actress Shrishti Shrestha in most of the scenes in the film. He said that the psychology and lifestyle of just two people represent two different communities.

“I tried to show the different geography and psychology of the two characters in the film, which is why they are in most of the scenes. This is a story of our current times, where the trend of enjoying social media more than society is increasing. The film inspires us to find happiness within ourselves,” said director Gauchan.

Actor Hussain Ram and actress Shrestha are playing the role of Sita in the film. The film, which is presented by Tri City Pictures, features Sanjay Gupta, Ram Narayan Thakur, Madan Thakur, Reena Rimal, Kausalya Thakur, Lalita Devi Mishra, Rupesh Mandal, Sudeep Patel, Anil Kurmi, Manoj Shah, Arjun Pokharel, Omprakash Karna and other actors. The film will be released on Magh 11(24 January).
