Bhaktapur. Janak Education Materials Centre Limited has announced that textbooks have reached 80% of schools across the country. As of Chaitra 13, the Centre has printed a total of 17 million books and sold 80% of them, according to General Manager Anil Kumar Jha.
He informed that textbooks have reached 75 districts so far. Starting today, textbooks are being distributed in Solukhumbu, Banke, and Bardiya. In Kailali, textbook sales will begin from tomorrow. He mentioned that efforts are being made to ensure textbook distribution in all districts by Chaitra 28.
There has been some delay in textbook sales due to local governments not releasing funds to schools on time. Jha noted that it took 10 days after communicating with the local governments in Solukhumbu for the funds to be released.
After distributing textbooks to schools in remote districts, distribution will begin in the Kathmandu Valley, according to Jha.
