Ram Kumari has decided to return to the UML, showing such warmth towards Oli.

Kathmandu, 26th Chaitra: Ram Kumari Jhakri, secretary of the CPN (Unified Socialist), is contemplating returning to the UML. Recently, Jhakri has not been very active in her party but remains engaged in various social activities. Her relationship with party chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and senior leader Jhalanath Khanal is not very cordial.

She has openly criticized the party leadership. Lately, she has publicly praised UML chairman KP Sharma Oli through the media. Jhakri was in the limelight when Madhav Nepal split the UML to form the Unified Socialist Party. Playing a decisive and interventionist role in the party’s split, Jhakri also became the Minister for Urban Development in the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.

However, she became displeased with Nepal after he recalled her from the ministerial post in a humiliating manner. Sources say this incident caused a rift in their relationship. Jhakri attended the tea reception organized by the UML on the occasion of Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath, bringing a bouquet to Chyasal.

At the event, she was seen warmly embracing UML leader Astalaxmi Shakya and showing cordiality towards other UML leaders. Oli also gave special attention to Jhakri. Secretaries Yogesh Bhattarai, Thakur Gaire, and others are particularly pushing for her return to the UML. Oli himself has also encouraged her to return to the UML and work actively.

She has reportedly told her close friends that there is no alternative to unifying the UML and the Unified Socialist sooner or later. She has also begun to say that if Madhav Nepal delays the unification with the UML, she will not hold back any longer.
