Baltimore: In Baltimore, USA, a bridge collapsed after being struck by a ship. Local authorities have reported that many vehicles and at least seven people fell into the water. Rescue operations are ongoing. The bridge, located over the Potomac River, is three kilometers long.
There has been no official confirmation of any fatalities so far. A spokesperson for the Baltimore Fire Department indicated that there could be ‘some fatalities’ in the Baltimore bridge accident. Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski mentioned that rescue operations are continuing following the collapse of the Francis Scott Bridge.
He stated, “I am aware of the situation and am in contact with the fire and emergency services.” The incident occurred at 1:30 AM local time. The ship involved was 300 meters long and was en route to Sri Lanka. It was flying the Singaporean flag.
