Taldung: Khanikhola Rural Municipality has completed its first quarterly review for the fiscal year 2080/81. The review, organized by the District Coordination Committee of Kavre, assessed the financial and physical progress over the past three months.
The presentation on behalf of the municipality was made by the Rural Municipality Chairman, Indra Bahadur Thing. He acknowledged that the municipality has faced challenges but is advancing on the path of development despite being behind in terms of geographical, social, physical, and economic progress.
Ratna Prasad Dhokal, the Chief Whip of the Parliamentary Party of the CPN Maoist Center and former Minister of Bagmati Province, emphasized that the B.P. Highway, which connects the region through Mahabharat-Khanikhola to the provincial capital, will serve as a milestone for regional development.
Dhokal also mentioned that the urban development program of Bagmati Province has been implemented in Khanikhola and assured that a multi-year contract is underway for the road connecting Taldung through Sike Rodhoban to Hetauda.
Dipak Gautam, Chief of the District Coordination Committee, noted that the republic has not yet reached the citizens’ huts, indicating that true republicanism cannot be achieved without people feeling its impact. He urged federal and provincial assembly members to prioritize the Khanikhola-Taldung road in the upcoming budget for the development of Khanikhola.
He also informed that the review has been conducted by dividing the 13 local units of the district into six clusters.
Deputy Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Rim Bahadur Tamang, stressed the need to focus on income generation for the prosperity of Khanikhola.
Chief District Officer Rudra Devi Sharma emphasized delivering services with maximum benefit and convenience for the people.
Rural Municipality Vice Chairman Dorje Man Jimbha requested elected representatives and heads of government offices to unite for the development of Khanikhola.
Badriraj Timalsina, President of the Nepal Press Union Kavre, noted that the remoteness of Khanikhola is gradually improving, and urged everyone to unite for the region’s development.
